Water Restrictions – Update

Water Restrictions – Update

Dear Citizens,

Thank you for your cooperation the past couple of weeks with water restrictions. I am thrilled
to report to you that we have finally brought our new well on line, and this has greatly reduced
the stress on the Maple Canyon well.
We are now relaxing our restrictions, but request that you please remember that we live in a
desert. To that end, we request that you continue to water every two days – or less often. Here
is a URL with specific information and recommendations based on our county.

Additionally, we ask that you water between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. (Preferably
between sundown and sunup.)
I would like to reiterate that we at no time were in danger of not having enough water. We
have plenty. The concern we had was with our pump and the demands on it. These demands
had increased fairly dramatically because we share the Maple Canyon Well with Salem, and
they have increased usage with their increased development. We have taken measures to
reduce the stress on that pump, and also reduced our use of the Maple Canyon Well by
bringing our new well on line.

Here’s to great citizens!
Warmly,
Mayor Wendy Pray
